Bernard Nasara Saibu resigns from EIB Network

Senior Broadcast Journalist, Bernard Nassara Saibu has resigned from EIB Network under very strange circumstances can authoritatively report.

Mr Saibu’s resignation which comes as one of the biggest shocks in the media landscape is believed to be related to his law programme and some unpleasant comments from a management member of the EIB group which sought to suggest he was not living up to expectation.

According to information gathered by this portal, the Executive Director of the company is reported to have told him in a meeting that he is not giving the company value for money since he is now in the law school and therefore demanded that he should resign.

Prior to that meeting, however, Mr Saibu had tendered in his resignation letter but was persuaded by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bola Ray to rescind the decision but declined and went ahead to.

A planned sendoff party for the journalist who is expected to hand over his official vehicle today, February 23, 2018 has also been ignored because he (Saibu) disclosed that it was needless since management is pressured him to quit.

It is gathered that the said party was part of a scheme to showcase to the world that the journalist resigned on his own volition in the wake of similar resignations that have hit the EIB media empire and capitalized on by bloggers.

Bernard Nassara Saibu joined EIB in May 2015 from the Multimedia Group where he was usually a sit-in host for the Super Morning Show.

His journey with the EIB network saw him anchoring the evening news on Accra based Starrr 103.5FM, Starr Today

Meanwhile, a communique to staff about his departure read:”

Dear Colleagues,

I regretfully announce the resignation of Mr. Bernard Nassara Saibu, Senior Broadcast Journalist with EIB Network with immediate effect.

His resignation has become necessary due to the hectic academic calendar of the University of Ghana’s Law school programme, which makes it impossible for Bernard to keep both demanding roles as a full-time student and full-time employee.

Since joining EIB on 25th May, 2015, Mr. Saibu has been a valuable member of our team by contributing to making the EIB brand one of Ghana’s top 5 media groups in the nation.

We want to use this opportunity to acknowledge his effort and thank him for the tremendous contribution throughout his employment with EIB.

On behalf of the Chief Executive Officer and everyone, I would like to wish him the best of success in his future endeavours.

Best Regards,

Christiana Buah
